Right after the roundabout of Caracasbaai but before turning to Janthiel Beach lies a beautiful spot of nature you don’t want to miss! I’ve talked about the salt flats of Bonaire before and now it’s time to put Curaçao’s very own into the spotlight.
The salt flat area is quite large, which makes it perfect for some exercise like jogging, horse riding or mountain biking. I suggest to do this early in the morning when it’s still nice and chilly outside. Not only do you get to witness the island’s morning glory during sunrise, but you might have a bigger chance of seeing some pink birds…
Those pink birds are flamingo’s of course! In the midst of the salt flats lies a big, salty lake full of brine shrimps and flies. Unfortunately for them, the flamingo’s love to eat them. Fortunately for us, we have a higher chance of spotting them because of this!
Have you ever been to the salt flats of Janthiel? This is your chance!
